DR. BILL VON HAGEL
With 23 years of unwavering commitment to success, Dr. Von Hagel has a unique ability to understand the full lifecycle of a business, from capture to proposal development, secure supply chain, hardware acquisition, program management, recruiting, finance, and project closeout for hybrid hardware and software projects. Dr. Von Hagel’s data-driven, process-oriented approach, coupled with a rare ability to perform under pressure and excellent team-building skills, resulted in the successful capture of over 30 new contracts with an estimated $50M annual revenue.
Dr. Von Hagel’s entrepreneurial spirit was exhibited through the establishment of a small, government contracting company that expanded to 2.5M annually across eight contracts within four years. Dr. Von Hagel also has experience managing $50M of business across 20 contracts, increasing profitability by 15% over two years.
As a Vice President and Software Engineering Director, Dr. Von Hagel demonstrated effective strategic planning and team growth, even amidst re-organizational complexities. Dr. Von Hagel’s technical prowess is evident from their experience as a Senior Software Engineer, where Dr. Von Hagel architected multiple software systems using a range of programming languages and platforms.
Dr. Von Hagel holds a Doctor of Management degree, specializing in organizational leadership. Dr. Von Hagel’s doctoral dissertation explored voluntary employee turnover among IT professionals, adding a unique academic perspective to their practical experience.
Currently serving as Vice President at CyberCore Technologies, LLC, Dr. Von Hagel creates short- and long-term technology, demand generation, and program growth strategies. Dr. Von Hagel’s led proposal development, implemented secure supply chain logistics models, and authored, implemented, and trained staff on custom CyberCore prime proposal processes.
Prior to this role, Dr. Von Hagel founded Eclipse Engineering, LLC, where Dr. Von Hagel wore multiple hats from capture/proposal development to finance, recruiting, program management, and security roles. Dr. Von Hagel also has experience working with several other government contracting firms.
In addition to Dr. Von Hagel’s corporate roles, Dr. Von Hagel has also lent their expertise in academia, serving as an Adjunct Professor at several universities, teaching Business and Computer Science classes.
Dr. Von Hagel’s key skills span a broad spectrum of software, hardware, and programming languages. Dr. Von Hagel also holds multiple certifications, including the GIAC Certified UNIX Security Administrator (GCUX) and RedHat Certified Engineer (RHCE) among others.
JOSH THIEL
Josh Thiel is a distinguished alumnus of West Point and a veteran of Special Operations, boasting 21 years of dedicated service. His tenure as a Special Forces Green Beret saw him amass comprehensive knowledge of the Middle East and Pacific Asia, with nine deployments to countries such as Papua New Guinea, Thailand, Malaysia, Philippines, Iraq, and Afghanistan. In Asia, he accomplished 147 missions across 19 countries, and in the Middle East, he directed over 6,000 missions, personally taking the lead in 473 Combat Operations.
In 2018, Thiel was bestowed the responsibility of leading 1600 U.S. and 600 NATO Special Operations Troops, in addition to 18,000 Afghan Commandos. His strategic foresight and adept use of technology contributed significantly to the eradication of ISIS in Afghanistan within a mere four months, thereby putting a halt to ISIS’s four-year expansion across 25% of the country.
Between 2019 and 2020, Thiel was assigned the significant task of modernizing the Special Operations training environment across the U.S. This included updating the curriculum to reflect the realities of modern warfare, cyber threats, and the capabilities of global powers like Russia and China. His final military role as the Chief Operating Officer for 8,000 soldiers in the Security Force Assistance Command included overseeing their initial global deployments for strategic partnership.
After years of witnessing the transformative potential of Palantir technology, Thiel transitioned from government service to explore the realm of cutting-edge technology. Post-military, Thiel inaugurated a Mental Health approach which is now support thousands of nurses, Veterans, and eight active military units.
In 2023, Thiel launched Hinz Consulting’s AI Center of Excellence to empower the proposal industry by facilitating a deeper understanding of Generative AI, integrating it seamlessly into their operations, and honing relevant professional skills.
An accomplished author, Thiel has six publications to his credit. An ardent pursuer of knowledge, Thiel has earned two master’s degrees and is working towards a Doctorate in Technology at Purdue University.
